Executives from 20 Cruise Lines confirmed for key CLIA events

Auugust 19, 2018 - Executives from 20 cruise lines have already confirmed for two key Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) events this autumn; the Port & Destination Summit, in Lisbon on September 17 and 18, and Summit at Sea, held onboard Royal Caribbean International’s Symphony of the Seas SM from October 11 to 14. There are key decision-makers from four cruise lines attending the Port & Destination Summit for the first time, including the yet-to-launch Virgin Voyages, plus Azamara Club Cruises, Fred Olsen Cruise Lines, and Windstar Cruises. During the opening general session at the Port & Destination Summit, there will be a speaker from outside the industry. David Beckett, an international pitch coach, will be taking to the stage with a keynote ‘Pitch Perfect: Great Ideas Need A Voice – and a Great Pitch!’

This will be followed by a question and answer session with cruise line executives in which they’ll explain what they look for when potential partners are pitching to them. Bo Larsen, CLIA’s senior vice-president, strategic partnerships, said: “I am delighted that we have an incredibly diverse range of cruise lines attending both these events, from all sectors of the cruise industry.

I look forward to welcoming all our participants and continuing to strengthen the global cruise industry. The Port & Destination Summit, a unique platform for networking and growth for the port and destination community, takes place in Lisbon on September 17 and 18, prior to Seatrade Cruise Med, the largest cruise industry gathering in Europe. More than 45 cruise line executives are expected to participate in interactive sessions on a range of topics, including itinerary planning, port operations, and shore excursions.

Summit at Sea will take place from October 11 to 14 2018, onboard the largest ship in the world, Royal Caribbean International’s Symphony of the Seas SM. More than half the cabins sold in the first 10 days after going on sale, however there are still a few available to be booked.
