Iveco chooses RHM

Wednesday September 9th 2015 eight new IVECO Stralis Hi-Way trucks have been delivered to LGT Autotrasporti Laverde s.r.l.; the ceremony has been hosted in Melzo by Rail Hub Milano (RHM), Contship Italia Group intermodal logistic platform.

The event has been attended by Mihai Radu Daderlat - IVECO General Manager for the Italian and Mediterranean market, Sebastiano Grasso - Contship Italia Group Vice-President – Intermodal & Logistics, Fabrizio Filippi - General Manager Hannibal S.p.a. (Contship multimodal transport operator), Roberto Laverde and Elena Vincenzi - LGT Autotrasporti, Stefano Laggetta - Milano Industrial and Massimo Tentori – Iveco dealers.

The new trucks, Stralis Hi-Way model AS440S46T/P, are characterized by Contship Italia distinguishing bright pink livery, and equipped with a Cursor 11 engine, AS cockpit with an internal volume of more than 10 cubic meters and Eurotronic gear shift. The true strength of these vehicles lies in the HI-SCR system which requires no active or forced regeneration and guarantees improved safety, productivity, lifetime and efficiency. All the new trucks also feature the Fuel Efficiency Package, including different technological solutions positively impacting on the operational costs. The trucks will now enter into the fleet of LGT Autotrasporti Laverde; 33 vehicles now renewed with the addition of these eight new Iveco Stralis Hi-Way (Euro VI class).

“This order – comments Mihai Daderlat – is a further prove of the great value of our vehicles, offering excellent solutions in terms of both environmental impact and productivity, today key factors for the economics of heavy-transports. Stralis is a winning vehicle, for several aspects: the vehicle itself, the vanguard technology, its top-of-the-class performances, capable of conquering more and more clients.”

This deal marks the beginning of an extended collaboration between Iveco and the transport company based in Albiate, already a partner of Contship Italia who recently inaugurated a new 100,000 sqm yard for its Rail Hub Milano in Melzo, now featuring 4 new rail tracks, 750 m long, and a total yard surface of some 260,000 sqm. The new development is expected to improve the rail capacity of the terminal, strategically located on a crossroad between Italy and Europe, up to 9,000 trains/year. "Our Group business has always focused on intermodal transport – comments Sebastiano Grasso – Road haulage in Italy is more and more strategic to provide clients with effective and competitive solutions. The new commitment of LGT will improve the levels of quality and safety of the truck fleet we use”.
