OOCL marks spike in total volumes


Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL), a part of Hong Kong-based Orient Overseas (International) Limited, has marked a 5.3% increase in total volumes for the third quarter of 2014, compared to the
same period last year. Total revenues for the period ended September 30 increased by 5.7% to USD 1.518 billion. The loadable capacity increased by 1.3%. The overall load factor was 2.9% better than the same period in 2013.

Overall average revenue per teu increased by 0.5% compared to the third quarter of last year. For the first nine months of 2014, total volumes increased by 8.4% over the same period last year and total revenues recorded a 4.8% growth. The loadable capacity increased by 2.3%. The overall load factor was 4.3% higher than the same period in 2013. Overall average revenue per teu decreased by 3.3% compared to the same period last year.
